1Looking across several of the graves of the famous 47 Ronin Samurai, also known as the 47 Ronin of Ako or the Ako Gishi. Located at Sengakuji Temple, a Soto Zen Buddhist Temple in the Takanawa neighborhood of Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan. The 47 Ronin all perished by seppuku in 1703 after avenging the death of Asano Takuminokami, the Feudal Lord of Ako. This was a series of events which became famously known as a meaningful part of Japanese history, the Ako Incident.
