Snaefellsnes Peninsula Volcanic Landscape at Budir, Iceland
Several Icelandic sheep cuddle among thick green moss covering ancient volcanic basalt lava rocks in Budahraun Lava Field beside the estuary at Budir, a famous location and tourism destination housing Budir Black Church on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula in Iceland. An ancient now-dormant volcano strikingly imposes on the landscape from behind while a waterfall descends down the lava rock hills to its right. This photograph displays a great example of the complex, natural beauty that Iceland has to offer. Photographed in autumn.
