Corona of the Aurora Borealis
In this thirteenth photograph taken on 9.27.2016, I was fortunate to witness and photograph the extremely rare formation of a near-complete Corona of the Aurora borealis, appearing over lake Kleifarvatn on the Reykjanes Peninsula of Iceland. The other photographs in my series of sixteen show the formation and de-formation of this near-complete corona of the northern lights. I have never experienced another moment like it. My tour guide who lives in Iceland said that to the best of her knowledge, the Aurora had not displayed like that in at least 10 years. The Aurora over Iceland on 9-26 to 9-28 made news around the world. - Explore my PicFair store to see the rest of my photographs of these amazing Icelandic evenings. I am so glad to be able to share this beauty of nature with the world.
